Northwest Wales acting talent, Andy Whitfield, from Amlwch, on Anglesey, initially left the island to study at Sheffield University.
In 1999 he moved to Australia with future wife Vashti and began acting while working as an engineer and building inspector for a consulting agency.
Whitfield found work as a model before becoming a regular on Australian screens in recent years, appearing in the drama McLeod’s Daughters and medical show Out of the Blue.
